once upon a time twenty years ago
browsing on wikipedia I came upon the link to the 1989 romanian revolution; starting from there I remembered a very strange episode which for us, those watching the tv on those days, had a very strong impact; )there was a saying on the streets that the securitate people (terrorists) said “the christmas was yours, we’ll have the new year’s eve day”; I remember that my mother barricaded herself and us by putting a chiffonier against the entrance door)
anyways, I was only 12 and a half then and all I can remember is what I’ve seen then with the eyes of a 12 yrs child, very impressed by the fact that the soldiers installed a field machine gun under his grandparents’ window and shot several times with it, all the “terrorists killing people” stories heard on tv
those who were old enough at that time know that it takes a skilled writer to put down all the emotions, facts (which were all on fast-forward 
) hearsays on the street and on tv, and most of all, the national tv program which fed us what somebody wanted us to hear
anyways, enough talking, coming back to the main subject – the event I am talking about is the killing of several anti-terrorist unit soldiers (usla) together with their chief of staff in front of the national defense minstry (as it was called at that time); below you have 2 links to study (the second one has a more “conspiracy theory” approach on the subject)

what was most horrifying was that the bodies of those soldiers were left there and shown on tv as “terrorists”, while people spat on them … interesting, disinformation is a very powerful weapon …
I know I will never find the words to explain all I felt then, for the few days until things came to an aparent normality, but whenever I try to think to that period I get a chill down the spine
